Pretty drone shots are everywhere. Licensable ones are rarer — they leave room for text, hold still at the ends, and run long enough to cut.
1. Fly slower than feels right
Half-speed pushes give editors room to ramp. A 30-second creeping reveal will outsell a 10-second whip every single time.
2. Mind the handles
Hold the first and last three seconds dead still. Buyers need clean in/out points for transitions, and movement at the edges gets trimmed anyway.
3. Keep horizons honest
A level horizon and centered subject with copy space sell to brands. Save the Dutch tilts for your personal reel.
4. Golden hour, always
Nine of our ten best-selling aerials were shot within an hour of sunrise or sunset. Harsh noon light flatters no coastline.
